Pajama Birthday Party

This Pajama Party was so easy to put together, especially in the grand scheme of parties, and the kids had an absolute blast!  I mean, what child doesn’t love to wear comfy pajamas and watch movies while eating treats?  It doesn’t get much better than that, my friends!
April is a busy month for us.  We celebrate two birthdays (mine and my daughter’s), and a wedding anniversary, all over the course of the last week.  This year, my daughter turned eight and was baptized into our church during this same time, so I was hesitant when she asked me to throw her a birthday party.  I agreed, but told myself it needed to be simple to preserve my sanity! 🙂  I also didn’t want to go to great expense, so it was a fun challenge, but totally do-able.She requested a pajama theme, so I printed up THESE free, cute invitations and filled them in.

All the kids showed up in their pajamas with pillows, blankets, and sleeping bags in hand.

I wanted to incorporate lots of fun patterns and colors, so I did just that.  I set up a snack buffet table many of the same elements and decorations as in THIS party.  I made two quick banners for the backdrop with some scrap patterned paper.
I served lemonade in milk glasses and candies in convenient mini paper polka dot bowls from Hobby Lobby.
I filled some fun patterned paper bags from Hobby Lobby with goodies for take-home “thank-you’s”.
My daughter was adamant about having tickets to buy the food, like we did in THIS party, so I pulled out my leftover ticket roll.  Each snack item cost one ticket, and I gave each child, enough in the beginning, to buy one of each snack item.  Of course they ended up wanting more, so I issued more tickets later.  🙂
I served hand-dipped, sprinkled Rice Krispies treats on long sucker sticks, along with a big bowl of buttery popcorn.
I made a batch of my favorite Chocolate Cupcakes and swirled on the delicious homemade Chocolate Buttercream Frosting.  I also served whole strawberries on a platter.
Then for entertainment, we put on a movie (Epic), and played a game of Telestrations.
This party was so much fun for all and didn’t put a huge extra strain on me during our family’s busiest month of the year.  Success!

I just saw your post on Tidy Mom (from the linking party). Funny, I just did a post on the pajama party we did for my daughter when she turned 7 (she's now 10, but I'm doing a little series on birthday party ideas). I love your table set-up. It's adorable!!! Have a great day!

Wow, this PJ party looks outstanding. It sounds like you all had great time in this party. Well, I am just here to get some ideas for my sister’s bachelorette party that I am going to host at her favorite party venue New York. Please friends share some ideas!

As you deliberately embrace positive and here open convictions and change your thoughts from negative to positive, you will feel more positive, adjusted and happy.
