My kids are obsessed with planes, including Disney’s Planes, so because it’s the season of giving, we decided to make a fun Santa Candy Airplane craft that can also be given as a classroom gift! I bet you could turn it into an ornament, too, if you wanted.
Have you seen the Disney Planes movie yet? It’s really cute and puts across some great morals such as determination, courage, and friendship. The characters/planes all add such a fun element to the overall story with their unique personalities and traits.
My kids had a few favorites, as you can see. We were at Walmart the other day and saw the Disney Planes toys on Rollback and I couldn’t tell the puppy-faced little ones no. 🙂
Here are some more great items on Rollback: Disney Planes Flight to the Finish Speedway Rollback to $24.97, Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Die-Cast Vehicles, 3-Pack Rollback to $14.97, Disney Planes Fire & Rescue Deluxe Talking Vehicle Assortment Rollback to $19.97.
It’s a great time of year for price reductions on kids’ favorite toys! These would make perfect gifts all wrapped up pretty and placed lovingly under the tree. What child wouldn’t enjoy taking some Planes out for a spin on Christmas morning? That doesn’t happen every day.
My daughter couldn’t wait to rip open the box and take Supercharged Dusty for his maiden flight! He’s a crop duster by profession who’s also daring and adventurous!
If only pictures had sound. There were lots of “Bzzzzzooooommmms” and “Wwwwhhhhhhhrrrrrrr…..”s going on here.
Chupacabra was ready for take-off! I love how colorful he is. He’s also charming and gives his all to every race.
While the kids were in their little make-believe world with their Planes, I whipped up a fun plane craft that I bet a classroom full of kids would love to receive before school lets out for the holidays.
I enjoy giving handmade gifts and think these are perfect for kiddos, especially since they are edible and sweet. 🙂
These are so fun and quick to make!
Santa’s taking a plane this year, have you heard? His sleigh is out of commission, apparently. 🙂 Dusty and Chupacabra up there would probably be best friends with the jolly man in red. I mean, who doesn’t want to be on Santa’s nice list?
{SUPPLIES}
Lifesavers roll, plus extra for the wheels
Rubber Band
Stick of Gum
Santa cutout (I just printed and cut out a free clipart)
Santa Printable Tag (found below)
Start by threading your rubber band through the two candies.
Place the candy roll in the middle.
Place the stick of gum on top and carefully pull the rubber band over the top of both ends. You may need to adjust the rubber bands more towards the middle so they aren’t pulling the gum down.
Download and print the Santa Sleigh Printable HERE.

Now tie on the tags and hot glue Santa on top of the wings. Make a bunch to give to the kids in your life and their friends! And since Planes toys are on Rollback at Walmart, why not package up the candy plane with a longer-lasting, more aerodynamic Dusty, Chupacabra or other Planes character?
My daughter always looks forward to giving small gifts to her friends at school this time of year, and this is just the thing!
I swear Planes toys have magical kid-entertaining powers, and I love it!
Now the kids can re-create their favorite scenes and moments from the show!
Who’s your favorite plane on Disney’s Planes movie?
