The Giving Christmas Tree Kids Craft

It’s the season of giving, so to help kids get in that spirit, make a fun Christmas Tree Popsicle Stick Craft and write acts of service on the branches to carry out throughout the month of December.
We loved the Gratitude and Acts of Kindness Turkey Craft so much that we decided to make a Christmas version too!
I love this time of year for many reasons, but especially because it really causes me to reflect on all my blessings.  I have so much to be thankful for!  I make a great effort to help my children see the great good in their lives and to in turn look outward and share with those who are not as fortunate or who are experiencing a rough patch in life.
We’ve found that we’re the happiest when we’re helping others and not just focusing on ourselves and our own wants and concerns.  So we came up with a giving tree of sorts, where we wrote an act of kindness or a service that we will perform for someone else throughout the month of December. It’s super easy and fun to make (the kids loved it!) and the purpose behind it is great too!

Start by gathering 17 to 18 popsicle sticks or tongue deprossors (ours were the wider kind).  Paint all of them green.  Paint one brown and then break it or cut it to be the tree trunk. Glue all of them in place on a piece of cardstock.  Decorate the tree with buttons and pom poms and then write an act of service on each branch or a few of the branches.

That’s it!  Now have fun doing nice things for others during this most wonderful time of the year and enjoy the warm fuzzies that come from it.  🙂
Happy crafting with your kiddos and Merry Christmas!
