Hi! I’m back with another version of “What we ate for dinner last week!” This series has had a great response and I’m so glad you are finding it helpful! I hope you are being inspired to make dinner more often for your family!
Last week, my husband was on a trip for a few days, but instead of eating out, I set a goal to cook at home and save money. We ate well and certainly didn’t miss the french fries, burgers and chicken nuggets, (at least our waistlines didn’t), haha! I’m finding it easier to make the choice to cook over eating out the more that I do it. I love that it’s becoming a habit! As long as I have a meal plan and the ingredients in the fridge and pantry, I’m able to stick to it pretty consistently.
We had the kids’ friends over one evening for dinner, so I chose that night to make Buttermilk Pancakes, since they are super kid friendly! Breakfast for dinner is always a good idea, especially when feeding kids!
Here’s what we ate for dinner last week!
Instant Pot Tomato Basil Bisque with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. I love that I can sneak in some veggies (butternut squash) and my family doesn’t have a clue! This is seriously restaurant-worthy! Our favorite tomato soup! I use THIS 6 Qt Instant Pot. So worth the investment! I cook with it weekly!
Hamburger Corn Casserole. This is a reader favorite recipe, and for good reason! It’s so easy and delicious! My family goes wild for it.
Buttermilk Pancakes with Buttermilk Syrup. The Buttermilk Pancake recipe is available in Joanna Gaines’ Cookbook Magnolia Table. I’ve really liked everything I’ve made from this book!
BLT’s. So easy and so yummy! It was Friday and I didn’t feel like cooking, so I kept it simple, and no one complained! ๐
Homemade Pizza. We devoured this! It’s seriously the best homemade pizza, straight from my mom’s kitchen!
French Toast with Homemade Bread. Have you ever had French toast with homemade bread? It’s divine! I love the thicker slices. If you’d rather not make bread, you can use Texas toast. I just make a mixture with beaten eggs, a little milk and then mix in some cinnamon. It’s a real treat!
I cooked six times last week! I think that’s a record! ๐
I’d love to hear what you’ve been making for dinner, lately. I’m always in need of new ideas!
