Kick off the spring cleaning with this manageable, 30 day printable check list! Plus, keep those hardwood floors looking gorgeous with one simple method!
I look forward to the time when the snow melts outside (yes, it’s finally just about gone), and the flowers begin to bloom, for many reasons, but one being that I get to focus on decluttering, freshening and enlivening my house for the warmer months.
I know I’m weird, but I get a major sense of satisfaction from wiping away the dust and grime in those tucked away places that’s built up over those long winter months. I like to make an event of my spring cleaning (i.e. I tend to draw it out for a while). It just makes it seem more like a party than a chore that way. 🙂
So before I get started, I always make up a list of what needs to get done. This time, I split the tasks over a 30 day period so it’s much less overwhelming and easier to tackle. Oh how I love the feeling of adding a big check mark by that newly-accomplished duty, don’t you? It’s the best!
Sometimes I need a reminder to accomplish those less apparent tidying-up items that need to get done around the house, at least once a year. 🙂
I’m pretty good about keeping up with tasks around the house that are obvious if they’re neglected, such as mopping the floors and vacuuming. Something I do on a weekly basis is give some love and attention to our hardwood floors.
One of the things that most attracted us to our new-to-us, 1950’s home, were the original, beautiful hardwood floors that are throughout a large portion of it. In our previous home, we had only carpet and tile, so I wasn’t sure how to care for this type of flooring when we first moved in.
So, I texted a friend and asked what she used on her hardwood floors to keep them looking great, and she turned me onto the amazing Bona®.
It helps me keep my floors looking like a million bucks! I love that I can use the Bona PowerPlus spray bottle in tandem with the Bona PowerPlus™ Microfiber Deep Clean Pad to spot clean a specific, small section that’s notably dirty and other times I can give the entire area a deep treatment.
I don’t think these floors have ever gleamed so bright as when we moved in and began taking care of them the right way. 🙂
In fact, funny story regarding that…
We had our neighbors over a while back. They knew the previous homeowners and had visited what’s now our home often. One of the first things they said when they walked in the door was “Wow! Your wood floors look amazing! What did you do to them?”
My husband chimed in without missing a beat, “We cleaned them!”
And then we all had a good laugh.
It became apparent, then, that these floors had been neglected for a long while. But not anymore!
We then explained to our neighbor friends, who also have hardwood floors, about our not-so-dirty-little-secret that is Bona and the Bona Microfiber Floor Mop. Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner is the most powerful cleaner yet!
Its oxygenated formula loosens and removes heavy dirt build-up, while its bubbling action lifts away surface debris, providing a deep, powerful clean. Because of that, I don’t even have to use much elbow grease since it does most of the work for me!
If these floors could talk, I’m pretty sure they’d thank me. 🙂
Our neighbors sure did after I spilled the beans about this brilliant method.
Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaners are available at Lowe’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, ACE Hardware and True Value.
