Disney Jr. Sofia the First Halloween Party

This Disney Junior Sofia the First party…Halloween style…was loads of fun for everyone! Free party printables are available at the end of this post.

It was “princess”-y, with a cute and spooky spin!  My girls just adore Sofia the First.  She’s such a sweet girl and they love to watch her learn and grow in princess training.  I appreciate that they try to emulate her wonderful qualities.  They want to be just like Sofia!
So I decided to set up a “Princess School” for our party guests where they could learn how to be a princess just like Sofia!
And it all started with the dress and shoes.  If you want to be a princess, you need to dress like one, right?

Walmart has some great Disney Junior costumes to choose from, in addition to Sofia the First, including Minnie Mouse and Doc McStuffins.

My sweet toddler was thrilled to be Sofia the First for the day.  She glided around in her pretty purple slippers.

I picked up all the party supplies, including the beautiful dress, at Walmart.  American Greetings has a wonderful line of Sofia the First place settings and decorations.  I just had to get a set of cardboard crowns for all the little Sofias at the party.
We ate Halloween foods fit for a princess…i.e. the fancy kind.
These Frankenstein floats were sure cute and yummy!  I made it with a few chilled 2-liters of GingerAle and a carton of lime sherbet.  I drew the Frankie faces on clear cups with permanent marker.

There were orange cheese balls for munching…

…crowns and cute cookies for the little princesses…

…mini pumpkin Clementines that I drew cute faces on with permanent markers, pink and white popcorn made with candy melts…

…and Green Monster Eye Cupcakes that we saved for the Princess Cake Walk.

I also served Pumpkin Krispies treats.  Find out how to make them HERE.

Don’t forget the Spider and Pumpkin Sandwiches!  I just used Halloween cookie cutters for these.
I was lucky enough to use the same centerpieces from my Sleeping Beauty Party, so that part was super simple.  I hung the Sofia the First streamers on a scalloped tissue paper backdrop.  The tissue paper pom poms shown in the first photo above were also from my Sleeping Beauty Party. Decorations were a breeze!

The princesses enjoyed daintily sipping, snacking and chatting…just what princesses do.

And then they prepared to be taught the traits of a perfect princess.
A few of them even called me teacher.  🙂
A princess must always accessorize, and it helps if it’s with something sweet.  So we made candy bracelets on pretty pink ribbon.

They learned the lost art of jewelry making.  🙂

And then showed off their beautiful, yummy creations.  The snack-as-you-go jewelry line is the best!
They showed off their grace in a Princess Halloween Cake Walk.
A princess must always demonstrate perfect posture.
This little princess already knew how to walk properly and showed perfect form without the book.  🙂

The little prince wanted to participate too.

The Monster Cupcakes were a well-received prize for achievement.

Then the princesses folded pumpkin-patterned papers.

And used them to practice daintily fanning their pretty faces.

Then the king and queen sat on their throne and awaited the introduction of the royal palace guests.

Each princess bowed and curtsied to pay her respect.

The little ladies passed their courses with flying colors and achieved the rank of princess!

Who says princesses can’t celebrate Halloween?  It just has to happen the fancy way!

This is so cute! I loved the candy bracelets and the pumpkin fans they made. Those little pumpkin krispies were so adorable too, and I want to make them now! I bet the princesses were in heaven!
