Birthday parties are even more fun with these colorful, Striped Marshmallow Pops that kids are sure to love!
We are in the midst of birthday season at our house! My son’s, daughter’s and my birthday are all within a month of each other. It’s so much fun, but it’s also really busy too! I bet you’d agree that planning birthday bashes can be a lot of work! Especially when you host them at your home like we love to do.
My kids know that they can have a party with friends every other year, and this is the “on” year for parties! One thing’s for sure, these cute Striped Marshmallow Pops will be making an appearance at every upcoming special occasion!
I like to keep things as simple as possible for the parties so I don’t stress myself out. After all, birthdays are supposed to be fun, not a chore!
My kids usually choose a theme for the party and I pull together a few decorations, plan a few games, then make cupcakes and a few other treats to share with guests. These Striped Marshmallow Pops come together quickly and are a fun way to add color to the party table! Plus, who doesn’t love a dressed up marshmallow on a stick with Welch’s Fruit Rolls?! Sprinkles make everything more fun! At least that’s my motto!
These would also make a great party favor! Just package them in cellophane and tie with twine or a bow! They’re easily customizable according to the party colors too!
The stripes are so simple to create, thanks to Welch’s Fruit Rolls! Then I added some colored sugar for an interesting contrast and extra yummy factor!
Welch’s Fruit Rolls are a favorite snack around our house! I buy them at my local Walmart or Albertsons. They are so fun and yummy and have 100% daily value of Vitamin C and 25% daily value of Vitamins A & E. I love that fruit is the first ingredient too! My kids get a kick out of unrolling them! I like to include them in my kid’s lunch boxes too for an exciting surprise!
I knew they’d make the perfect stripes for today’s marshmallow pops!
Here’s how to put them together:
You’ll need Welch’s Fruit Rolls (go HERE for a great coupon), big marshmallows, sucker sticks, water and colored sugar (found in the sprinkles aisle).
Begin by cutting your Welch’s Fruit Roll into three thinner strips. Place a dab of water on the top of the marshmallow, place the fruit roll where you put the water so it will stay in place, then begin rolling all the way around the marshmallow. Let the fruit roll overlap slightly and press to secure it. You may need to add another dab of water to help it stay in place.
Repeat the above process for the next stripe, leaving white space in between. Now get a little water on the tip of your finger and run it along the white spaces of the marshmallow. You’ll want to make sure that every portion is coated and lightly damp (but not too wet) so the sugar will stick. Working quickly, roll the marshmallow in the colored sugar until the white space is covered. Brush the sugar off the fruit roll stripes, as necessary. Insert the sucker stick and that’s it!
I placed my marshmallow pops in a mini metal bucket in some craft foam with tissue paper. I can’t wait to serve these up at my kids’ parties! I know they’ll be a huge hit!
Do you have birthdays coming up in your family soon? This is such a fun party treat!
