Birthday in a Box Gift Idea

I’ve got a creative and easy gift idea for you today with this “Birthday in a Box” complete with a colorful Hallmark card!  It’s sure to please most anyone!
I don’t know about you, but when it comes to birthday gifts for friends and extended family, I’m usually stumped!  Especially for certain people in my life who seem to “have it all”, I always wonder what I can give them that would still be thoughtful and personal.
But, gifts aside, one thing’s for sure…the card is a must!  So even if I end up slacking a little in the present department, at least I’ve got something nice to mail them, that can be opened on their special day.  And if I’m short on time, I usually just tuck in a gift card, because who doesn’t love that?
There’s just something so exciting about receiving mail from family and other loved ones.  I admit, I’m a forgetful person, so to avoid being caught “off guard” and missing someone’s birthday, I stock up on cute Hallmark cards at Walmart a few times a year.  That way, I can simply grab one from my stash when I’m in a pinch and need to mail it or give it ASAP.
How cheery are these Hallmark cards?  They make me smile, and I hope they’ll do the same for the lucky recipients.  🙂  I made sure to get some that were specific to kids and adults.Hallmark cards start at just 47 cents, but only at Walmart!  How awesome is that?

And, they offer a huge selection for any occasion or theme!  I was in heaven with all these pretty colors!  Oh, the choices!

We just finished a major “birthday month” at our house.  Both my daughter and I have April birthdays.  It’s a party month, for sure!  But I have to say that I enjoy celebrating others’ birthdays much more than my own, because it means I don’t have to get any older. :)Although, what is more fun than gifts, cake and ice cream?  Not much!

Aren’t birthdays amazing?

What I love about today’s gift idea is that you can tuck in a Hallmark card and ship the entire box of goodies!  You’ll need to switch out the box for a mailing-friendly version and add some paper or bubble fillers, but the contents can remain the same.  Talk about a neat surprise to open!

In my “Birthday in a Box” I included a boxed cake mix, a container of frosting, candles, paper straws, gum balls, balloons, sprinkles, and cupcake papers.  Some other fun ideas are party blowers, streamers, banners, crowns, or just whatever you can dream up.  🙂 Just don’t forget to add the Hallmark birthday card!I’ll share the tutorial for the decorative tissue paper flowers on the outside of the box in an upcoming post.

I can’t wait to give this away!
What are your favorite simple, thoughtful birthday gift ideas to accompany a Hallmark card?  I’d love to hear in the comments below!

Love this post! I like your birthday card collections! Here we get huge choices for our loved ones. I wish I could make my sister’s birthday more memorable at party venues Houston TX. I want to buy this red color birthday card for my sister. Please tell, how I can order it?
