It’s officially summer at our house! My daughter is done with school and it’s hot outside! I’m looking forward to an action-packed, sunscreen-and-vacation-laden break with my family. Do you have fun plans too?
Our summers are high adventure, and most of our activities, like yours I’m sure, involve being out in the sun. Everyone from the hubby to me, to our three kiddos, all have very fair skin. If we’re not meticulous about applying and re-applying sunblock while out, we fry, and then we cry! 🙂
This time around, I wanted to ensure that we never forget the necessities while enjoying our summer activities, so I put together a simple Outdoor Fun Kit (a.k.a #BBBestSummer Ever Kit).
I keep this kit in the car so we’ll always be prepared for some fun in the sun. I love that it’s portable and fairly compact, so we can tote it in the stroller, beach bag, or hiking backpack.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own Outdoor Fun Kit:
Lots of sunblock! My all-time favorite is Banana Boat. I grabbed some SPF 50 Clear Spray for the kids. I love that it’s tear-free and sting-free and a breeze to apply. I also picked up some Men’s SPF 30 Clear Spray so as not to leave the hubby out, and believe me, it will be well-used. Then, because my skin always seems to be dry, I snatched some SPF 50 Protect & Hydrate Lotion. It’s sunscreen and a moisturizer all in one…amazing! Some other great Banana Boat sunblock options are:
-
Sport SPF 50 Clear Spray
-
Protect & Hydrate 50 Spray
- Men’s SPF 50 Lotion
Walmart has a special setup, at the front of the store, devoted to protecting our skin from the sun. Wonderful! As you can see, my sweet baby was my shopping buddy. I know from experience that, that smile can turn to a frown in a snap, so convenience is a huge plus and very much appreciated. 🙂
While you’re there, grab a small, plastic container with a lid to store everything.
Visit Walmart.com and you could instantly win an up to $100 gift card! That would cover the sunscreen plus lots more fun summer swag. 🙂
I also threw in a mini First-Aid Kit, water, snacks, and some Banana Boat UV protectant lip balm.
Then I added a cute label to the lid. Download and print (on white Cardstock) your free 3″x 5″ Outdoor Fun Kit tag HERE. Laminate the tag, if you’d like, for more durability. Then adhere it to the top of your container with double-sided tape. That’s it!Now onto the summer adventures! Memories are waiting to be made!
Whether we’re tubing at the lake with the cousins….yeah!
…enjoying a chill afternoon at the park (oh how she’s grown since last year!)….
….waterskiing the red ball course like a champ (that’s my awesome hubby)…
…hiking mountains with gorgeous views (that’s my daughter during our family reunion last year)…
…or shooting down waterslides…
…our skin is protected! I’ve always trusted Banana Boat to help my family avoid sunburns and other harmful conditions later from over-exposure to the sun. This kit is so easy to make, and now I’ve eliminated the possibility of being sunblock-less when we’re about to create summer magic and memories outdoors.Guess what? Right now Banana Boat is hosting a Wheel of Fun Contest on Facebook! Enter to win great prizes, such as a trip to Sea World, Disney World/Land or Six Flags amusement park. Can’t you just see yourself in one or all of those places now? 🙂
Here’s to lots of great fun in the sun without the painful effects!
Thank you, #CollectiveBias and Banana Boat, for giving me the opportunity to create this functional and cute kit for my family’s outdoor adventure needs.
